Funeral services were held here this weekend for the late Moshe Shmuel Sklarsky, well-known Yiddish book publisher, who died at the age of 72, Born in Lithuania, he came here in 1907 and, for many years, had been one of the most active advocates of Jewish literature in general, as well as a patron of Jewish poetry.

Mr. Sklarsky had visited Israel nine times. Among his many accomplishments was his advocacy of the plan whereby American books have been sold and circulated in Israel under the United States Government’s counterpart-fund program.
