Citations were presented here tonight to the Governments of Denmark and Sweden for their cooperation in the rescue of almost the entire Jewish population of Denmark from extermination by the Nazis in 1943. The awards were made by the New York Board of Rabbis, as part of a television documentary showing how the Danish people rescued the Jews from the Nazis, sending them to safety in Sweden.

The CBS-TV network, which filmed the documentary in Denmark, was also cited. The New York rabbis had cooperated in the production of the documentary. Participants in the ceremonies were Paul Ryder, Denmark’s consul-general here; Erik Kronvall, consul-general of Sweden; Richard Salant, president of CBS-TV; and David Rivlin, Israeli consul.
