The Soviet Government has, thus far, failed to reply to a statement made a month ago by the Board of Deputies of British Jews, regarding the reports of the sentencing of Soviet Jewish religious leaders, Sir Barnett Janner, president of the Board, told the organization’s monthly council meeting here today.

Sir Barnett announced that he has received a reply from the West German Ambassador here to an inquiry as to whether the new coalition Government at Bonn had agreed to ease the status of former Nazis and former members of the Nazi SS. According to the German Ambassador, those reports are not true and were based “on incorrect” information.
