Funeral services will be held here tomorrow for State Supreme Court Justice Henry Epstein, who died Saturday at the age of 66. He drew wide-spread attention in 1959 when he issued a ruling barring the Arabian-American Oil Company from questioning job applicants in the state about their religion. He also ruled against George Rockwell, leader of the American Nazi party in the latter’s attempt to make public speeches in New York City.

Justice Epstein, who received his law degree from Harvard University, served as deputy mayor of New York during Mayor Robert F. Wagner’s first term. He had previously served as Solicitor General under former Governor Herbert H. Lehman. He was a trustee of the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith and former chairman of its program committee. He was also a trustee of the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of New York.
