Israel’s Minister of Education Abba Eban and Michael S. Comay, Israel’s permanent representative here, held a conference today with Acting Secretary General U Thant.
Although the conference lasted 40 minutes, the participants refused to reveal the reason for the talk. Israeli sources said Mr. Eban only visited Mr. Thant out of courtesy. Mr. Eban, formerly Israel’s Ambassador here, has known Mr. Thant for a number of years. The latter was Burma’s delegation chairman here before he assumed his leading Secretariat post three months ago.
