The Yad Vashem, the official authority for preservation of the memory of the Hitler genocide, announced today a worldwide competition for Jewish artists to submit designs for a 175-foot high monument to be erected on the Hill of Remembrance in Jerusalem.
The proposals, for which the deadline is July 29, will compete for prizes of up to 1,000 pounds ($333). The amount planned for the memorial itself is 100,000 pounds ($33,000.)
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
