World Conference of Scientists Opens in Israel; Russia Attends Parley

The first international conference on paramagnetic resonance opened here today at the Hebrew University, with 150 scientists from 18 countries in attendance, Among those present are three Soviet scientists, 11 from the United States, 20 each from Britain and France, and seven from Italy.

Paramagnetic resonance makes possible transmission and reception of high power radar signals and very low power electromagnetic waves. The field is of interest to civilian and military industry and to the medical profession.

Israel is recognized internationally as being well-advanced in this field. Dr. Zeev Levy, of the Hebrew University, has developed special crystals of a type used to transmit and receive radar signals to and from the planet Venus.
