The World ORT Union today drew high praise from the major newspapers of Switzerland for its work in the vocational training of students from underdeveloped countries.

In articles dealing with the Swiss Government’s own technical assistance to underdeveloped countries, the newspapers stressed especially the joint program undertaken recently by the Government of Switzerland, the International Labor Organization and ORT for on-the-job training in this country of 18 Congolese students. This program, reported the press, has been “crowned with tremendous success. Factory managers who had provided on-the-job training for these students, stated the press reports, were so impressed with the work done for these students by ORT that they were willing to employ the Congolese in the Swiss plants.
