Some of the foremost American experts in accounting launched today a drive for $1,300,000, of which $400,000 is to be raised in the Greater New York area, to aid the Institute of Accountancy and the Department of Business Administration of the Hebrew University at Jerusalem. The university, conducting courses in the fields both in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, gives the only qualified academic training in accountancy in Israel.

The campaign was announced at a luncheon given by the National Accountants Committee of the American Friends of the Hebrew University, in honor of Israel’s six-man delegation to the eighth International Congress of Accountants, currently being held here. Joseph I. Lubin, a prominent New York accountant, announced the fund-raising program. Prof. Marcus, professor of finance at New York University, stressed Israel’s need for skilled accountancy.
