Israel Ambassador Amiel Najar conferred today with Professor Walter Halstein, president of the Commission of the European Economic Community in connection with the recent decision of the EEC Council of Ministers to open negotiations with Israel for some type of trade ties with the six nations of Euromart.

The talk followed a prior meeting the envoy had with Jean Rey, a member of the EEC Commission who is in charge of foreign relations. It was expected that the negotiations on the exact form of the trade ties would start in Brussels at the beginning of November.
