The propriety of allowing Dr. Hans Globke, State Secretary in the office of Chancellor Konrad Adenuaer, to continue holding nigh office in the West German Government was questioned again this weekend in Parliament.
Dr. Oswald Kohut, of the Free Democratic parliamentary fraction, asked the Minister of Justice, Dr. Wolfgang Stammberger, whether Globke’s status should not be re-examined in the light of recent exposes of former Nazi Judges.
Dr. Globke was the author of a commentary on the racist Nuremberg Laws of 1935, during the Hitler regime. The Justice Minister replied that he was not authorized to answer Dr. Kohut’s question. The Free Democratic Party is a member of the present Government coalition.
