Brazil Jewish Leader Elected to State Senate in Landslide Vote

In a landslide vote here, Dr. Aaron Steinbruch, president of the Federation of Jewish Organizations in this city, was elected as a Senator in the State of Rio de Janeiro, according to the complete tabulation of the recent general elections announced today. He will be the first Jewish Senator to serve in this country. Dr. Steinbruch defeated four other candidates for the Senatorship, his vote topping the number of ballots cast for all of the four others combined.
