A World Jewish official told a meeting here today that there was “mounting evidence” that the anti-Semitic, neo-Nazi and fascist organizations in various countries “are united in a Nazi international. “

The charge was made by Dr. Siegfried Roth, executive director of the WJC European Division. He pointed out that the West German Government reported last year that some 450 organizations, parties and publishing houses outside Germany were serving the fascist movement and similar bodies within West Germany.

He said that these groups held regular international gatherings and maintained continuous liaison. He took issue with those who oppose legislation against racial hatred, declaring that it was an “outdated concept” to assume that it was a violation of the principles of democracy and freedom of speech to curb the activities of those “who want to make an end to these very things. “

Rev. William Sargent, leader of the British anti-fascist Yellow Star movement, told the meeting that it was the responsibility of the Christian Church to repent its past history of anti-Semitism. He declared that, when minorities are persecuted, it was the duty of a Christian to feel as if he himself were under attack.
