U.S. Immigration Commissioner Reminds Non-citizens to Register

R. F. Farrell, Commissioner of Immigration and Naturalization, today issued a reminder that non-citizens must report their addresses in January under a provision of the 1952 Immigration Act.

Among those who must file address reports are estimated to be a considerable number of persons of Jewish faith and some Israelis temporarily residing here. Serious penalties, including deportation, may be imposed upon an individual who willfully violates the alien address report requirements.

Parents or guardians of alien children under 14 are required to fill out address reports for such children. Each alien concerned may fill out an address report card at the local U.S. Post Office or at the nearest office of the Immigration Service.
