A bill authorizing the Postmaster General to add George Washington’s famous quotation “To Bigotry No Sanction” to the five-cent stamp bearing the picture of the first President, was introduced into the House of Representatives today by Congressman William L. St.Onge, Connecticut Democrat. The quotation was contained in a letter written by Washington to the Jewish community of Newport, R.I., after he had visited the Touro Synagogue there.
