League Urges Greater Aid to Israel on Immigration and Absorption

Samuel H. Daroff, president of the American Jewish League for Israel, told the League’s board of directors that there was a great need to increase aid to Israel, to help Israel cope with its huge immigration and absorption problems. He described as vital the role which Zionism must play in Jewish communities outside of Israel.

Dr. Natan Lerner of Argentina, who is now in charge of the Latin American desk of the World Jewish Congress, described problems facing Argentine Jewry. Sir Barnett Janner, president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, described to the board’s luncheon session the work of the Board of Deputies, Judge Louis E. Levinthal reported on issues to come before the Zionist Actions Committee when it meets in Jerusalem later this month.
