A seven-week conversational Hebrew course, on beginning, intermediate and advanced levels for college students and high school seniors, sponsored by the Student Zionist Organization in cooperation with the Herzliah Hebrew Teachers Institute, will start during the summer vacations of 1963, it was announced here today.
Successful students will be awarded four credits by the Herzliah Hebrew Teachers Institute. These credits are recognized automatically by colleges in New York City and through special arrangements by out-of-New York colleges. The beginning class is planned for students with no previous knowledge of Hebrew. In the advanced class, students with a Hebrew background will have an opportunity to perfect their command of spoken and written Hebrew.
The South Branch Hotel in South Branch, New Jersey, will serve as the site of the course. The hotel combines features of a summer hotel and summer camp. The fee for the entire seven-week period, including tuition, room and board, but not including travel, laundry and insurance, will be $295. An additional fee of $10 will be charged for registration. Qualified candidates may receive scholarships up to $100.
