An amendment to the Hotel Act, banning religious or racial discrimination by any hotel, restaurant or camping ground in the Province of Quebec, was introduced today in the Quebec Provincial Parliament.
The Canadian Jewish Congress here announced that the provisions of the draft bill are “acceptable as interim measures until such time as more specialized legislation can be obtained.” If enacted, the amendment will bring Quebec into line with six other Canadian provinces that have anti-bias laws of one kind or another on their statute books.
