The Rabbinical Alliance of America, an Orthodox group, went on record today as opposing Bible reading in the public schools. This was announced here by Rabbi Meyer Greenberg, president of the group, at the organization’s annual convention. He stressed, however, that “under no circumstances, are we against non-denominational prayers” in the public schools.

The convention delegates adopted a resolution today calling on Jewish welfare federations throughout the United States to increase their support of Hebrew day schools in their communities, and to raise their allocations for religious education.
