Israel’s Cabinet today authorized the issuance of a special commemorative stamp in honor of the late Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt. The stamp is to bear her portrait.
Under a 1952 decision by the Cabinet, to Israeli postage stamp is allowed to bear a human portrait, unless the Government authorizes such depiction by a special vote. There have been some exceptions to this rule.
