Thirty-six young West German artisans belonging to the “Beit Tel” organization arrived in Israel today to carry out the pledge of their leaders to atone with their own hands for the sins of their parents against the Jews of Europe.

The artisans will repair an abandoned village in Givot Zeid in the Western Jezreel Valley and convert it into a home for some 250 mentally retarded persons. The same group opened a convalescent home for victims of Nazi persecution four years ago at Natanya. Members of the organization have cared personally for the sick in that home. An Israeli organization for crippled and handicapped children is cooperating with the West German youths in developing the Givot Zeid project. The Rasco Construction Company also is participating.
