A new threat by the Arab boycott office in Syria against British firms dealing with Israel was reported in the press here today. It was disclosed that the Damascus headquarters of the boycott committee is attempting to blackmail those companies planning to participate in the International Trade Fair to be held in Tel Aviv next June and July.

The threat was contained in letters sent from the boycott committee to the Middle East representatives of the British companies. It declared that the Arab bureau “will proceed to a detailed investigation on the real relationship with Israel of all companies” taking part in the fair.

Maurice Orbach, secretary of the Trades Advisory Council, said today he was preparing a memorandum to the Board of Trade which “will include the latest method of intimidation.”
