Many Brazilian Jews Leave Soviet Union; Are Repatriated to Brazil

A total of 231 Brazilians, including many Jews, have been repatriated to this country from the Soviet Union, official figures disclosed today. However, it was indicated that 800 Brazilians seeking repatriation are still in the Soviet Union.

More than 1, 000 Brazilians gave up their Brazilian citizenship and traveled to the USSR several years ago, stating they would settle in the Soviet Union permanently. All have, since, sought to return to this country. Many of the disillusioned expatriates are Jewish.
