Mrs. Frances Gunther, a writer and long-time Zionist, died here yesterday at the age of 67. She was the former wife of author John Guriher. Born Frances Fineman in New York City, Mrs. Gunther was a member of the executive committee of the American Friends of a Jewish Palestine. During the immediate postwar years, she was a leading American supporter of Irgun Zvai Leumi.

At the time of her death she had been writing a book on the impact of Judaism, Christianity and Islam on politics and history; She had named the Hebrew University Medical School as legatee of her estate and also had willed her body to the school.

In addition to her writings on Palestine and Zionism, and her work as a foreign correspondent, Mrs. Gunther was the author of a book, about “Revolution in India ” She had been the author also of many magazine articles.
