The Spanish Government has announced that it will open a Jewish museum and library at Toledo, which had a flourishing Jewish community before the Jews were expelled from Spain in 1492, according to Madrid dispatches received here today.
According to the Spanish Government, the museum will be run by a 21-man board, including the chairman of the Jewish community in Madrid and at least one professor from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. The purpose of the new facility, the Government stated, was “to maintain and tighten the links that have tied Sephardim to Spain for centuries.”
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
