Prominent Chilean exporters and importers established, for the first time, a Chilean-Israeli Chamber of Commerce at a meeting held here today. Juan Guiloff was elected chairman and Samuel Goren, Israel’s Consul-General here, was chosen honorary president.
Members of the new Chamber said after the organizing meeting they were certain that trade between this country and Israel would be expanded in the near future. One of the first signs of the increased commerce, it was announced, will be a shipment to Israel in the near future of $500,000 worth of Chilean wood, principally pine.
