Moscow Announces Production of Film on Jewish Life in Russia

An agreement was signed here today between Orient-Film, an Israeli film company, and the film unit of the Soviet Novosti News Agency for the joint production of a film depicting the life of the Soviet Jews. Work on the film, which is described as a “documentary,” is expected to begin next February. A secretary at the Israel Embassy was present during the signing of the agreement between the two film groups.

A monument has been erected by the City Council of Pinsk for the Jewish martyrs of that city, it was reported here today. The monument was dedicated on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the liberation of Byelorussia. It was also reported from Minsk that the City Council there named a street for a Jewish hero of the Soviet Union named Mosh-kowski who fell in action in 1939.
