Sir Roy Welensky, former Prime Minister of the Federation of Northern and Southern Rhodesia, said today that Egypt was planning to attack Israel within the next two years.
Addressing the opening of an agricultural exhibition in Bulawayo, Sir Roy said that he believed Nasser was determined to organize North Africa and all the Arab countries under his dominance for the purpose of attacking Israel. “I am not competent to judge the outcome of this conflict,” he declared, adding that “if an attack is made, there is going to be a bloody conflict.”
