The Coptic Church of Egypt today charged that the proposed declaration on Catholic-Jewish relations, being debated by the Ecumenical Council, is motivated by “purely political” considerations according to a Cairo dispatch received here today. The church’s official organ called specifically on the Council at the Vatican to avoid adoption of any declaration that would absolve the Jews of deicide.
