Saul Hayes, executive vice-president of the Canadian Jewish Congress, and Dean Maxwell Cohen of McGill University, have been appointed by Canada’s Justice Minister Guy Favreau to a “small informal committee of experts formed to study effective means of combating hate literature.”

The Justice Minister speaking to a district B’nai B’rith meeting, said he expected to name the remainder of the committee within the very next few days. “This group will study effective policies and means for fighting hate literature and other hate materials and recommend to me as quickly as possible concrete steps the government might take,” said Mr. Favreau.
