Thousands of Australians, including many non-Jews, have signed petitions urging the West German Government and Parliament to enact measures extending the Statute of Limitations for Nazi war criminals of mass murder and genocide. The appeal, initiated by the Association of Jewish Victims of Nazi persecution in Melbourne, was signed by the Victorian Board of Jewish Deputies, the Executive Council of Australian Jewry and leading Australian figures in religious life and in education.
