Austrian Justice Minister Christian Broda said here today that his Ministry was still considering the question of whether to extend the Austrian statute of limitations for Nazi war crimes beyond the June 29, 1965 cut-off date, and that no decision on the matter had yet been reached.

A delegation representing Austrian Jewish communities, meanwhile, protested to the West German Ambassador here against the Bonn decision retaining that country’s May 8, 1965 statute of limitations on major war crimes. In a memorandum submitted to the envoy, the Jewish communities said they were dismayed by the decision.
