The Gideon Society was barred today by a permanent injunction from its plans to distribute 3,000 Bibles to public school children in the fifth to twelfth grades in a school district. Judge Lawrence E. Monroe of Bucks County court said, in issuing the injunction, that such distribution would violate the constitutional separation of church and state.
