East German Communist officials opened a sharp campaign against Israel and West Germany today with a statement denouncing any German help to Israel.
The statement was in the form of an article by Guenther Kerscher, assistant editor of the East German Communist daily, cues Deutschland. The article called the Israel reparations agreement, of 1952, “help to the imperialist strong held in the Middle East.” Records indicated that Kerscher joined the Nazi party in 1937.
