Mrs. Agnes E. Meyer, a prominent leader in the fields of education and the arts and widow of Eugene Meyer, former chairman of the board of the Washington Post, was today named the recipient of the 1965 National Brotherhood Award of the National Conference of Christians and Jews.
The award will be presented by Labor Secretary W. Willard Wirtz at a dinner on Wednesday which will also be addressed by Adlai E. Stevenson, U.S. representative at the United Nations. Mrs. Meyer, who is chairman of the National Committee for the Support of the Public Schools, is being honored by the NCCJ for “her numerous contributions to the nation and to all communities in which she had lived.”
