Salary increases to total 10 percent over a three-year period have been granted to teachers in the schools here affiliated with the Jewish Welfare Fund, according to an announcement by L. Berger, president of the Federation of Hebrew and Jewish Teachers.

The teachers have been demanding the pay increases for some time and, recently, threatened to strike to enforce their requests. The situation, however, was resolved without a strike. Mr. Berger issued a statement on behalf of the Federation, thanking all who had contributed to the settlement. Under the agreement, the teachers have been given a five percent pay increase for the year 1964-65, retroactive to last September; three percent more for 1965-66, and two percent for 1966-67.
