Two American Jewish youngsters and a third from Toronto, Canada, were named yesterday as the first prize winners of free round trips to Israel in the finals of the sixth annual Bible contest for the United States and Canada sponsored by the department of education and culture of the Jewish Agency for Israel. The first winners were: Robert Kaplan of Far Rockaway, N. Y.; Rena Sorkin of Minneapolis; and Edward Fingold of Toronto.
Winners of second and third prizes in the contest were: Russell Hendel, Brooklyn, M. Y.; Sandford Borins, Toronto; Ronald Androthy, Waterbury, Conn.; Mordecai Goldberg, Plainview, N. Y.; Avram Malek, Brooklyn; Shalom Kieval, Albany, N. Y.; and Ronald Levine, Kansas City, Mo.
Ambassador Katriel Katz, Israel’s Consul General in New York, was present for the quiz. Dr. William Chomsky, chairman of the Agency’s education and culture department, was advisor to the contest committee.
