Bourguiba Lauded in U.S. Senate for Advocating Arab-israel Peace

Sen. Frank Church, Idaho Democrat, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, today took the Senate floor to commend President Habib Bourguiba of Tunisia for advocating Arab-Israel peace.

Sen. Church said President Bourguiba “deserves high commendation for statesmanship for making his recent statement about Arab-Israel relations.” The Senator noted that Mr. Bourguiba urged “his fellow Arabs to quit stockpiling arms for war against Israel.”
