Pittsburgh Jewish Federation Concludes 1965 Drive; $1,700,875 Raised

The United Jewish Federation of Pittsburgh concluded its 1965 campaign with record contributions totaling $1,700,875. a “breakthrough” figure that exceeded last year’s drive by 10 percent.

According to Alvin Rogal, newly elected president of the Federation, and William Stark, campaign chairman, this year’s total was the largest amount ever raised during a regular, non-emergency campaign since the inception of the Federation as the community’s central planning and fund-raising organization in 1955. Last year’s drive had brought in $1,541,040.
