Bjoern Ljndahl, 30, leader of a Swedish neo-Nazi group, was acquitted today by a Stockholm court on changes of armed threats against law and order and of carrying on an illegal organization.
Lundahl and six followers were arrested last month in a police raid in which a cache of weapons was found, as well as documents containing plans for the killing of all Swedish Jews. The six followers were released on grounds of insufficient evidence to hold them.
Swedish newspapers published, shortly after the raid, documents found at the group’s headquarters and tape recording transcripts, showing that Lundahl had met repeatedly with Kamel Hamed, former first secretary of the Egyptian Embassy in Stockholm. The Central Council of Swedish Jewish Communities responded to the raid with an expression of concern over the activities of the neo-Nazis.
