New York’s film critics today hailed the opening here last night of the Israeli film, “Sallah,” a satirical comedy written and directed by Ephraim Kishon. Both the New York Times and the Herald Tribune praised the work of Haym Topol, the 29-year-old actor who portrays Sallah on the screen, and lauded the film as a novel spoof on modern life in Israel.
