The Parliamentary Foreign and Security Affairs Committee approved yesterday the Government’s decision to hold this year’s Independence Day parade in Haifa, after the matter was debated in the Knesset.
The issue was referred to the committee after a motion opposing the Haifa site decision was submitted by former Premier David Ben-Gurion’s Israel. Workers Party (Rafi), and the Gahal Herut-Liberal Alignment. The two opposition parties severely criticized the decision at a plenary session of Parliament last week.
