Five young synagogue arson suspects appeared in North London magistrates court yesterday and were again remanded in custody until March 8, Applications of all five to be freed on bail were rejected.
David Thorne, 20, a warehouseman, John Evans, 24, a laborer, and Gordon Parker, 19, a store worker, were charged with setting fire to the Bayswater Synagogue last June 30, and with setting fire to the Brondesbury Synagogue last March 13, M. Trowbridge, 23, a carpenter, was charged with setting fire to the Brondesbury synagogue. Raymond Hemsworth, 17, was accused of setting fire to the Bayswater Synagogue.
