Alexander Konoff, U.S. Industrialist, Gives $1,000,000 to Technion

Alexander Konoff, of New York, an American industrialist who has been a member of the board of governors of Technion, the Israel Institute of Technology and vice-president of the American Technion Society, announced at the board’s annual meeting here today that he is contributing $1,000,000 for the advancement of Technion’s junior technical college and for the promotion of vocational and technical training “of the highest order.” He said he will pay the funds over a 10-year period, at the rate of $100,000 annually.

Another highlight featuring the meeting of the board of governors was the dedication here of the J.R. Sensibar sanitary engineering laboratory. That facility has been established by the Chicago chapter of the American Technion Society, in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Sensibar. The latter were guests at a reception marking the dedication.
