The Fourth International Trade Fair opened here tonight when Kadish Luz, Speaker of Parliament, pressed a master switch to light up the fair symbol, a flying camel on a perch.

Simultaneously, thousands of lights and multi-colored neon signs came on in the pavilion and entertainment centers. Exhibits from 45 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and North and South America were on display. About 60 percent of the merchandise was sent by foreign exhibitors. The 16-day fair is expected to attract 400,000 visitors, according to Tel Aviv Mayor Mordechai Namir, chairman of the fair’s board of governors.

Six Soviet scientists arrived here to participate in the International Clay Conference, a parley dealing with geology. The scientists arrived in Israel yesterday to attend the conference, which opened a week of deliberations here today.
