Argentine Credit Cooperatives Start Cashing Checks; Give No Loans

The credit cooperative banks whose activities were restricted by the new government of President Ongania, to the detriment of many Jewish small merchants, today started cashing checks in small amounts, thus relieving some of the tension which the restrictions caused. However, the cooperative banks cannot grant any loans as yet for the time being.
