Zionist Organization of Canada Rejects Proposals on Reorganization

The national executive of the Zionist Organization of Canada, after two days of “thoroughgoing” deliberations, voted to reject proposals on the reorganization of the Zionist movement endorsed by Dr. Nahum Goldmann, president of the World Zionist Organization, and Aryeh L. Pincus, chairman of the Jewish Agency executive, at a recent Zionist parley in Brussels. A resolution adopted at the end of the deliberations here said:

“The National Executive expresses its appreciation to Dr. Nahum Goldmann and Aryeh L. Pincus for their efforts in seeking a solution to the organizational problems now besetting Canadian Zionism. At a meeting of the National Executive attended by 80 members from all parts of Canada, the proposals made in Brussels were given the gravest consideration, and it was decided that these could not be accepted since they ignore the historic position of the Z.C. C, and would necessitate changing its character in a manner which would not be supported by the vast majority of Canadian Jewry. Re-affirming our dedication to the highest interests of Zionism and Israel, we are prepared to consider an organizational solution which would further Zionist activities in Canada based on the widest cooperation.”
