Jewish Committee Leader to View Relations with Christians in Europe

Philip E. Hoffman, chairman of the board of governors of the American Jewish Committee, left today for a three-week mission to Europe, where he will study developments in Jewish-Christian relations in the year since the end of the Ecumenical Council.

He will meet with Christian authorities in Belgium, Holland, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Spain. In Belgium, he will have an audience with Leo Joseph Cardinal Suenens, Archbishop of Mechelin-Brussels. In Holland, he will meet with Catholic, Protestant and Jewish leaders. In Austria, he will meet with Franz Cardinal Koenig, Archbishop of Vienna, and Chancellor Josef Klaus.
