Nearly $1,000,000 in commitments to the American Histadrut Development Foundation has been obtained to date in Los Angeles, Julius Fligeiman, Pacific Coast president of the Israel Histadrut campaign, announced here last night.
He also told 300 guests celebrating the foundation’s fifth anniversary that the West Coast has set an additional goal of $1,000,000 for the campaign for the Histadrut, Israel’s labor federation. Bernard B. Jacobson, the campaign’s West Coast executive director, said that the additional $1,000,000 to be sought in bequests, insurance assignments and long-term commitments, will be used for various projects of the Histadrut Assistance Fund in Israel. The national quota is $10,000,000, according to Dr. Sol Stein, of New York, national campaign director.
Mr. Fligelman said he was doubling his previous bequest to a total of $50,000. Ben Sapkin, of Los Angeles, announced he was making an additional $10,000 bequest for a total commitment of $100,000.
