Dr. Judah Pilch, New York educator, was elected president today of the Histadruth Ivrith of America at the closing session of the organization’s convention. The Histadruth Ivrith seeks to advance the Hebrew language and culture in this country.

Dr. Pilch told the convention that a plan proposed earlier in the convention for creation of an American Council for the advancement of Hebrew language and culture could mark “a new epoch in the history of the Hebrew movement in America.” Rabbi Theodore Friedman, South Orange, N.J., and Shemeon Pollack were elected vice-presidents.
